Depending on how confident and fit a cyclist you are, there are a range of destinations that can be accessed by bike from Chester Meadows.
The centre of Chester-le-Street can be reach in under 10 minutes by bike and you’ll find a number of restaurants, cafes, shops and more there, including the market.
Whilst some of the main routes can be busy, many of the local roads are rural in nature and make for a great quieter, scenic and more leisurely cycle ride.
You can also access National Cycle Network route 7 in just over 5 minutes from Chester Meadows. The route begins in Sunderland and runs all the way to Carlisle. Locally, you can use the route to access Consett, Sunderland and more.
